Find Uvalde Facility Releases

To find someone released from Uvalde County Correctional Facility, first determine whether the person entered the community or moved into another agency's custody. The Uvalde County jail release record identifies the departure, while the related court file explains the case outcome. A state commitment, federal pickup, immigration hold, or transfer to another county requires a different follow-up. The correct record path depends on who received the person. A live jail roster cannot serve as a historical release list because a released or transferred person usually drops from current-custody results.

Uvalde Facility Release Paths

Uvalde County Correctional Facility is the county jail operated by the Uvalde County Sheriff's Office. A local detainee may leave after bond, personal bond, time served, dismissal, sentence completion, or another court-authorized action. Some people begin county probation after release. Others do not return to the community at all. They may move to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, another county, federal custody, or immigration custody.

The sheriff's booking-out entry records departure from this building. It does not always prove freedom from custody. Read the release or transfer type, date and time, and destination or receiving-agency field. Then match that entry to the court cause. The court record may show the bond order, dismissal, judgment, credit for time served, commitment, or probation terms. One case ending also does not clear an unrelated warrant or hold.

A facility departure can be a community release or an agency transfer. Ask who received the person before choosing the next locator.

Confirm Uvalde Jail Release Records

No official Uvalde County live roster, recent-release feed, or sheriff jail app was found in the reviewed sources. The durable path is a focused Public Information Act request to the sheriff. A name, date of birth, booking date, intake number, and narrow date range reduce mistaken matches. Request records that exist rather than asking the sheriff to reach a legal conclusion.

  1. Contact the Uvalde County Sheriff's Office and ask where Public Information Act requests are currently accepted.
  2. Request the jail-register entry, booking-in and booking-out record, release or transfer order, release timestamp, receiving agency or destination, and booking photograph.
  3. Preserve the receipt. If material is withheld, ask for basic arrest and release facts plus the cited exception.
  4. Use the cause number to check the correct District Clerk, County Clerk, or justice court record.
  5. If the entry names another custodian, continue with that agency instead of treating departure as final release.

Texas Government Code Section 552.221 requires prompt production within a reasonable time. It is not a free ten-business-day delay. If production will take longer than ten business days, the office must certify that fact and give a reasonable availability date. An itemized estimate may be issued when charges exceed $40. Electronic inspection or a narrower request may reduce copy costs.

The broader Uvalde County released inmate search explains how sheriff and court evidence fit together. The county jail record remains the key source for the exact booking-out event.

Uvalde Facility Records Contact

Use the official sheriff contact for the jail register and booking-out material. The county page does not publish separate records-unit hours, a release-report fee, a booking-photo fee, or a request form. Call before an in-person visit and ask how the office currently accepts a written request.

A request can name the person's full name and date of birth, intake number if known, and each relevant booking date. Ask for the destination field even when the expected result is bond or time served. That field helps distinguish a return to the community from a transfer. If several bookings exist, identify each one separately.

Uvalde Release Record Details

The permanent county jail register must include core identifying and movement facts. Texas's public-safety retention schedule lists the prisoner's name, gender, intake number, reason for commitment, and release or transfer date as minimum register data. Supporting files can add booking-in and booking-out records, release or transfer orders, and property receipts.

Record itemHow it helps
Intake numberSeparates bookings for people with similar names.
Release or transfer timestampShows when Uvalde facility custody ended.
Release typeDistinguishes bond, time served, sentence action, or transfer.
Receiving agencyPoints to state, federal, immigration, or county custody.
Cause dataConnects the booking to the correct court file.

The jail register is permanent under schedule PS4200-06a. Booking, release, and transfer support records are retained for release or transfer plus at least two years under PS4200-10. Property inventories and receipts follow the same minimum period under PS4200-12. Retention does not mean online publication, and an exception may still require redaction.

The Texas retention schedule gives a requester a precise record series to name.

Uvalde Federal Transfer Records

The county audit describes a 214-bed correctional facility that houses local, area, and U.S. federal inmates. It also reports federal-housing revenue. That mixed population makes “released from the Uvalde jail” unusually uncertain. A federal prisoner can leave King Fisher Lane while remaining in U.S. Marshals Service custody. The county date then records a handoff, not community release.

Ask the sheriff for the receiving agency and any federal case or register identifier. If designated to the Bureau of Prisons, the BOP Inmate Locator can later display a release date and a “Released” or “Not in BOP Custody” result. That status ends only BOP custody. Supervised release or another system may still apply.

ICE's Online Detainee Locator uses an A-number or exact biographical data and may show releases within the last 60 days. A missing result proves neither removal nor community release. USMS has no public prisoner locator, so the federal docket, authorized contact, and a scoped request remain the fallbacks.

Uvalde TDCJ Transfer Checks

A commitment to TDCJ is also a transfer, not a county-jail release into the community. Search the TDCJ inmate system for current state custody, using the TDCJ or SID number when available. Texas assigns prisoners across its statewide network, and no TDCJ prison unit was identified in Uvalde County. The relevant unit is the one on the actual state record.

TDCJ's public search excludes people who are no longer incarcerated. For a past state release, request the release certificate, discharge certificate, actual release date and type, supervision status, and discharge date from TDCJ Public Information at P.O. Box 4017, Huntsville, TX 77342 or PIA@tdcj.texas.gov. A state release certificate establishes departure from incarceration; the county commitment alone does not.

Transfer
Movement to another custodian while custody continues.
Release
Departure from confinement under a stated legal basis.
Discharge
The later end of a sentence or supervision obligation.
Detainer
Authority that can cause another agency to take custody.

Uvalde Facility Capacity Context

The official county audit's 214-bed statement is a current county-published description, not a release count. Texas Commission on Jail Standards material from 2022 used different point-in-time figures. Capacity, daily population, annual bookings, and annual releases measure different things. None can be substituted for another.

A January 2026 Texas Commission on Jail Standards notice is a point-in-time compliance document, not a roster or release feed. Oversight records may explain operations, but they do not confirm whether one named person was released. The sheriff's booking-out entry and disposing court remain the direct evidence.

Uvalde Released Booking Photos

Uvalde County does not provide a verified public photo archive. A specific booking photograph can be requested from the sheriff by name, date of birth, intake number, and booking date. Case-specific law-enforcement, juvenile, privacy, sealing, expunction, or other rules may affect access. If a photo is withheld, ask for the statutory basis and whether a redacted version or basic booking facts are available.

A June 2024 AP/KSAT report preserved sheriff-supplied booking images while reporting that the depicted defendants had been booked and released.

The dated report is a secondary discovery channel, not a complete sheriff policy or current custody source. A press image does not establish present custody, guilt, or final disposition.

Note: The strongest confirmation is the dated booking-out or transfer entry reconciled with the correct court or receiving-agency record.
